Her head is ornamented with a crown that has seven pointed spike that represents the seven seas and continents. The tablet is held close to her body where as the torch is held in the other hand symbolizing the freedom and democracy of the state of New York. The statue has 354 pedestal steps and 25 windows in the crowns.
