The Staten Island Ferry is a popular tourist attraction in new York City. It is a passenger ferry operated by the New York City Department of Transportation. It operates ferry between Whitehall Street at the southernmost tip of Manhattan near Battery Park (South Ferry) and St. George Ferry Terminal on Richmond Terrace.

It takes about 25 minutes to complete the ride in each way. You don't have to worry about the charge of the ferry since it is now free of charge. But riders must disembark at each terminal and reenter through the terminal building for a round trip by the ferry. You can also carry bicycles with you which may be taken on the lowest deck of the ferry and that is also free of charge. In earlier times ferries at Staten Island Ferry were equipped for vehicle transport. But since the attack of September 11, 2001 vehicles are not allowed on the ferry.
