Grand Central Terminal was constructed in the year of 1903-1913 for the Harlern Railroad company. Serving as the center of transportation for trains, metros, cars and pedestrian traffic in an effective way, the famous Grand Central Terminal has 67 train tracks.
The present Grand Central Terminal is not the original one built in the year of 1863. The original Grand Central Terminal comprised of a large glass and steel train shed. But the increasing smoke and traffic from the smoke engine trains blurred the vision in the Park Avenue tunnel. This in turn caused an accident that took away the lives of 17 people. Since then, by public demand steam engine in Grand Central Terminal was banned in Manhattan from the year of 1910.

New proposals of renovated Grand Central Terminal came up later. Costly electrical trains began to run in the tracks of Grand Central Terminal. Newer buildings came up by the side of the 49th street with a extra fee to the railway company. In 1994, the Grand Central Terminal was thoroughly renovated and modernized again. Now you will find various facilities in Grand Central Terminal such as retail malls, food court and a large iron eagle that once adorned the first Grand Central Terminal.
