| City Hall Park of New York is located near the south side of the King County Public Safety Building. It was formerly battlefield but now it has become a small walking and sitting space filled with grass, trees, benches, small tables, and chairs. It is ideal place to spend some quality time alone or your family or friends. Here in this park you will feel close to Nature and at the same time can enjoy a good time.
City Hall Park has a small oak tree which commemorates the founding of the United Nations. It also has a plaque with cannonball that recalls the 1865 Battle of Seattle. The battle took place when Indians led by Chief Leschi attacked the pioneer village in a last effort to save their lives. The battle lasted for a short time, but, mostly because of the fire power of the gunship Decatur, moored in Elliott Bay. In 1964, during freeway construction, several more cannonballs were unearthed below Harbor view Hospital. City Hall Park keeps with the military history of United States. During the old times it was used as a drill ground for troops during World War II.
